2017 Sixth Form results
We were delighted with another excellent set of Sixth Form results.
And in particular it has been wonderful to see 85% of our students gaining their first or second choice university place in 2017, with 75% gaining their first choice.
Our A Level and Level 3 BTEC results were the best in the history of the school and we are very proud of the rapid progress we have made with our Year 12 and 13 students to achieve these.
As a school we are measured by the Department for Education on the value we add to our students based on their outcomes at 16 when they completed their GCSEs compared to their outcomes at 18 when they complete their A levels or equivalent qualifications.
We are proud that our Sixth Form results for 2017 show that our students performed better in their A levels when compared to other similar ability students at other schools in England. This is shown in the table below:

GCSE English and maths progress measure
The college has a small number of students who do not achieve their GCSE in English and/or Maths at grade 'C' at the end of key stage 4.
These students are required to continue to study this qualification in the Sixth Form. The table below shows the progress made by these students. A positive score, as shown, means that, on average, students got higher grades in Sixth Form than at the end of key stage 4. The majority of students who retake their GCSE in Maths and/or English achieve a grade 'C' by the end of Year 13.
