Lutterworth College: Enabling every young person to learn, flourish and succeed
At Lutterworth College, we’re proud of our Christian Ethos, and believe that Jesus’ characteristics serve as a role model for all our students, no matter their world view. We believe that Jesus was able to show courage by standing up for all members of society, becoming friends with tax collectors, and making the Samaritan the hero of the story. Through Jesus’ parables, we learn the importance of being supportive of others and as a school we provide many opportunities for students to show kindness and compassion to those in need. We want our students to understand the value of hard work, and with that, comes a sense of tenacity. A student shouldn’t give up the first time something goes wrong, but to go back, try again, be reflective of the mistakes, move forward and chase success. Finally, we hope that during their time at Lutterworth College, they’re inspired by the example of Jesus, their teachers, their peers and the people they study, in such a way that they are able to go and do something amazing with their own lives and inspire others to do the same.
We believe that Proverbs 22:6 encapsulates what we as a school are about. We want our students to feel welcome, make friends, learn new things, feel safe and enjoy school. We want our students to see success in their academic learning, but also in the extra things they do, by being part of a Church of England School. We aim to create an environment that allows our students to ‘learn, flourish and succeed’ through promoting values to invest in and apply to their own school experience. School is not just a place to learn and succeed but also a place to flourish. With our strong Christian Ethos, deeply rooted in Christian scripture, our school vision, and our Be CHRIST values, we believe all of our students leave Lutterworth College with a strong foundation that ‘when they are old, they will not turn from it’.
