College News 1st March 2019
High School Musical
A last plug, first & foremost, for the School Show happening next week – I understand that there are a few tickets left. Years 7,8 & 9 had some sneak previews this week in assemblies and big congratulations out to all the performers – much more challenging to perform in front of your peers!

Year 7 intake – September 2019
We were very pleased to hear this week from the Local Authority that we have now have allocated 240 students for Year 7 entry in September 2019. This is the maximum number we can take in and we also now have a waiting list for students to access the College in Year 7. This is really good news for Lutterworth College moving forwards as the only inclusive, 11-19, Church of England school in the locality.
Pre-Public Examinations
There will be a second set of Pre Public Examinations for Year 11 & Year 13 that will happen before Easter starting on Monday 1st April and ending on Friday 12th April.
English and Math’s PPE timetables for all Year 11 students have been issued this week via email to students and parents. These PPE’s will be taking place in the main school hall in the last week of term on the Monday, Thursday and Friday. Revision classes (Year 11 & Year 13)
Revision classes have begun this week.
Please see the link below on which classes are being offered.
Students can find full details about the content of each particular session by checking at Student Reception.
Note that students must arrive promptly for sessions. For lunchtime classes, they should bring a packed lunch.

Revision Tips can also be found on the school website by following: https://www.lutterworthcollege.com/Revision-Tips/
Attendance has improved as the week has progressed. Really good feedback from students about the sessions.
Year 11 Motivational study workshop
Students will be participating in a motivational workshop on Monday 11th March as part of their preparation for their GCSE exams; The session is being delivered by Dave Keeling from Independent Thinking. Dave is a Stand-up Educationalist whose mission is to inspire, inform, empower and entertain in equal measure and to ensure they have the strategies to be successful in the summer exams. Dave will be delivering a parent workshop from 6.30 – 7.30pm in the Hall, all parents of Year 11 students are warmly invited to attend.
Friends of Lutterworth College (FOLC)
FOLC met this week and following two successful fundraising events in 2018 have agreed dates for another quiz (hosted again by the amazing Mr Shovlin!) and this year’s Colour Run:
Easter Quiz – Friday 5th April (Evening)
Colour Run – Saturday 6th July
The aim is to raise funds to build and landscape an area on College site as a memorial garden. It is likely this area will be adjacent to the area that has benefited from new outdoor seating (also provided by funds raised by FOLC) near to the ATP.
We would love more parents to get involved with FOLC – either as an organiser or as a helper at fund-raising events at the College. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 13th March at 6pm in the school library and it would be great to see some new faces.
Next week’s ‘Thought for The Week’
‘The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.’ Psalm 19
All the best for the weekend
